Tests Carried Out on Regiolis WSP System

Following the upgrading of its WSP software, Alstom Transport commissioned Eurailtest to carry out tests in downgraded adhesion conditions.

This type of test is ideally carried out in the autumn or spring and tests over a 4-week period therefore began on 6 March 2017.

The aim of these tests is to improve WSP functions under all types of adhesion, in other words to keep the extra stopping distance to a minimum and avoid the need for axle reprofiling by preventing damage to the wheels. The ultimate goal is for ALSTOM Transport’s Regiolis trainsets to operate under the best possible conditions.

Eurailtest’s teams were entrusted with verifying the performance of the WSP devices and contributing to the validation of the new software version. These tests have COFRAC accreditation under the EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
